yeah, it's not a google killer. it's not really meant to be a general purpose search engine

Oh, ok, didn't know that. But what it can do google can't, so I just figured that.

Google can do half of that (math and the 42) :p

Yea, but not stuff like the integrate digamma (x) dx from 4 to 10. Not that I know what that is, or if the answer is even helpful lol.

And it makes simple searches easier. Instead of having to click a link and gathering the info, it presents it in the same format for all your queries. I'll use this for quick research instead of google now.

Slow as hell. :-/

It knows "What are you?" but not "What is your uptime?" or "What operating system do you run?"

[Edit: Aha! "How old are you?" works!]

I don't get it.

It's not complicated. Search engines today focus on finding pages with your keywords you enter, and you have to learn the best way to phrase your search terms and fiddle with them to get good results, and sift through those results to find the information you're looking for.

The goal of this is to do all the hard work for you. Ideally, you ask a question, and you get an answer.

At least that's how I understand it.

I think Google are releasing something similar, in direct competition to Wolfram.
