Multi-monitor taskbar for Windows 7

It's called Task Se7en, it's in pre-beta. Only 32-bit at the moment.

I've no desire for such a taskbar anymore. I was a bit miffed when I first tried Windows 7 and saw it didn't work with Ultramon's taskbar properly, but after moving the taskbar vertically on my second monitor, between the primary and secondary, I don't see the need for it anymore. Plus, it's nice to have that extra real estate on my primary monitor.

On old windows, vertical stacking was annoying. You either let it take up a lot of room, or you couldn't really read what each window was. It just didn't look right. But it looks fine on Win7.

That's a good point, though when you get more than two monitors, it doesn't work so well.

Not sure i like the win 7 taskbar to be vertical. I also really dont like that the show desktop / peak thing is on the right.

I never understood why people bother with having a taskbar on Multi-monitors. I run 2 monitors and never bothered getting a program to have the taskbar on each screen. Just seems like its for extremely lazy people who can't take the 1/2 second it takes to move their mouse back to the first screen to me.

The only time I see that it could be useful is if you have 3+ monitors...which is fairly rare..

Because some of us prefer not to assist in development of carpel tunnel by dragging their mouse halfway across the pad just to switch programs, and then drag it back. It is annoying.

lol its like barely a wrist twitch to do so. If that is difficult, or even annoying to you, then you are either lazy or don't need to use computers.

Or need to turn up your sensitivity.

Sounds like you need to turn yours down. Yours is probably so high you have it pixel-skipping. :carl:

Doubtful. Its set to 1750 dpi, and have full control.

Then again my monitor is 1920x1200 resolution.

DPI doesn't keep the mouse from pixel-skipping :carl:

And I thought you said you had 2 monitors? I have a 1440x900, and a 1280x1024. And if I count my synergy'd laptop, that's another 1280x800.

1280x1024<----second monitor's resolution.

And I never said that it did keep it from pixel skipping? In fact I don't understand how you can get that I said that from what I actually said.

Because you mentioned it as if it's a reason it wouldn't be pixel skipping.

No I was saying that 1750dpi was the speed. As in higher dpi = faster speed. And I was implying that at that speed I still have full control over the mouse, or no pixel skipping.

I didn't say that dpi mattered when it came to pixel skipping. I was referring to my own experience in the matter and at that dpi and on my monitors, it does not cause pixel skipping and I can switch between monitors without lifting my arm using only a jerk of the wrist.

Windows 7 taskbar is awesome for netbooks also. Although I kinda miss individual tabs for each program rather than stacked.

you can do that. right click on the taskbar > properties > Taskbar buttons.

By that logic, we shouldn't ever bother improving user interfaces, because people annoyed by poor interfaces are either lazy or don't need to use computers.

A second taskbar can help screen organization immensely. The practicality can be tested as well.

In short, what I'm saying is that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I wish there were more delicious dishes w/ celery in them. Because celery doesn't taste all that good by itself.

@Emon

Yeah, you're SO right, I haven't a clue what I'm talking about. Go back to your hole.
