Yes. I don't know if a thread like this has ever been done, but wallah... here's my vein attempt to spur interest in abandoned projects :P PLEASE, provide links to any projects you are referencing!

Here are my top five;
- JK Stargate SG1 TC
- Metroid Prime: Prologue
- Star Trek
- One Must Fall 2097
- Katarn Karts
Lyrics are highly overrated.

If this ever came out, I would actually attempt to get JK to run on Vista.

The gameplay in Katarn Karts would most likely be utterly boring though.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

It's not difficult. Just right click on the JK shortcut and in the Target line copy and paste:

"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Jedi Knight\JK.EXE" -windowgui

If you didn't install to the default directory, you may have to change that a bit. The important part is the -windowgui at the end.

I never saw a thing from it that didn't have perfectly flat tracks.

Also. That sonic thing someone was working on. We had a whole discussion of how it would work, too.

This is from a news post you made on that project page on the 2nd of March, 2006:

Quote:
well the mod is pretty much done, a few files updated here and there, and its ready, except for the full static.jkl, need Hell Raisers help on that.

The year we are currently living in is 2009. Yes, I know about the hard drive crash...but I strongly doubt you will ever finish your TC. Not that it matters, the amount of people who would play a new JK TC must be pretty low these days, and you've gained some good experience out of this that may help you in future endeavors that actually do matter.

x2 @ Krokodile

JK runs fine on Vista. Just yesterday I had a bunch of friends over for a mini LAN party and we attempted to play some JK Arena. My friend with a tablet PC running Vista got it to run just fine... although trying to control your character with a pen is another story...

And as far as I know there is no page for Showdown. Maybe there was, but it is most certainly defunct now.

Only one that comes to mind is Esther, the project I was working on in 2002, 2003. I could dig up the old showcase forum posts, but the image host is long since offline... :(

That huge Massassi City Project that was being made back around 1999-2000, a whole bunch of us submitted different land properties, 3dos, and other things to add to the massive project. I was really hoping someone would have released what he had so far. :(

There was some old project hosted on jediknight.net that aimed to expand CTF with extra objectives, different player classes, and so on, but I can't remember what it was called now. Maybe it was by the group that eventually produced Infiltrate? (Now there was a fun mod that I never got to play much of...)

Showdown only had three good maps in it anyway.

The three I made.

Stargate SG1.. FOREVER.

That Metroid Prime one actually looks really badass too. I can see where the massive detail of the levelmaking would get tedious though.

There's something similar for Half-Life called bumpercars, sadly it doesn't have a racing mode, it's just deathmatch style racing.

Ohh, almost forgot this one...

Top Down Arena.

Really neat concept. Plays kinda like GTA2 for JK. Too bad it died :P

I thought whatever files they had for that were released at some point.

I remember a mega thread in 2002 where TheSpanishKid asked for those resources and they released Mos Espa not long after... but I somehow remember all the rest of the files being dumped somewhere around 2004 or so. Or then not.

I remember this, everyone got one square block, and had to submit it to someone who would compile them all into the city. I think the issue was getting it all transferred over to the main city file without losing things or getting errors.
