I'll be the first to admit that the Wii suffers from a lot of crap games and, as it's been with Nintendo since the N64, the good games are hard to find. But to bash the premise itself as a "waggle-controls gimmick" completely fails to understand its potential with such simple premises as
this in a game. All I ask is that the bashing be directed at the
developers who fail to capitalize on the strengths of the Wii properly, and
not the system itself.
And to add to the mix, I too am of the 80's crowd and I still play games on my Wii as much as any of my other consoles (which admittedly, has been less than I'd like). Besides the ones already mentioned, I like Shaun White's snowboarding and Link's Crossbow Training, and is STILL the highly preferred system to play with other people, especially when it's more than 2 people in the same room. I'd argue that the people who prefer the 360 and PS3 are the ones living in the past, where most of its library (i.e. the rule, not the exception) reminds me of prettier games I've already seen done on earlier-generation consoles (usually minus the multiplayer unless you pay for Xbox Live or the like).
And as for the actual topic, I'll be interested in buying this game when I can.
