Any one giving out agp cards?
2009-05-22, 11:28 AM #1
I'm trying to find a replacement for my old FX 5200... I can not afford a new agp card. I could, however, probably afford the shipping on anyone who would give away an agp card that they don't use anymore. Can anyone help me out?
Nothing to see here, move along.

Umm no... The PCI express equivalent of my card is a lot cheaper than buying a new fx 5200.

The best offer available to me is a eVGA GeForce 6200 with 256mb, 63 dollars.

63 U.S. dollars = 830.81 pesos + 15% tax which = 955.43 pesos....

Not so cheap for me :(

Who are you using for shipping? And where are you shipping from? How much does the package weigh? I have an uncle in El Paso, who will be coming down in a while to visit. Maybe you could ship it to him, and he can bring it to me.

same price... seriously i'd only even consider getting rid of this one if i was going to replace it with something else... like a 3850 (which happens to be $100)

and newegg doesn't ship to mexico

Umm... I don't see how you can profit $100 dollars since you said you're paying for shipping and handling, which could easily be 60-80 dollars to ship here, depending on who is doing the shipping and the package weight.

So wait, does this mean you're willing to pay $60-80 for shipping, but not willing to pay $63 for a new card?

Well the card DrkJedi82 is offering is by far superior to the 63 dollars card. So if I'm going to raise money for a card, it might as well be the best I can get. How many people do you know work for about 3 weeks to for a video card (+2 finding a job and maybe a nother week to cover bus expenses)?

There you have it. If I'm going to spend 6 weeks trying to raise 100 dollars, or if by any miracle some one comes up and lends it to me, with some sort of interest scheme (I got friends who are masters at that) it might as well be for the best option I can get.

You know, I thought the whole "mexicans are poor" thing was just a myth.

:(

Didnt you once say you were Canadian or had canadian citizenship? I mean, if you do, why don't you just get the **** out here (preferably British Columbia). If you do have a citizenship, then I don't see any reason why you wouldn't do this. If you don't, well, nm :)

I have American citizenship, I only once stated that I wanted to go to Canada to see how things are. The reason I don't leave is because I'm in the middle of highschool and my parents live here. They sort of need me around.

I have a 9700 Pro that I bought for an old Pentium III machine back when I didn't really understand that it would be massively bottlenecked. Then I bought a new computer that was PCI-e so I never got to use it much :(

I will sell it to you for $25 + shipping.

Well just a round trip.
I'll travel up to 50 miles for it though, other than that you need to pay for shipping me there and back.

Sorry to derail, but can someone share their opinion on what would be the best card for me to get if I were to upgrade?

I've currently a Radeon 2900XT and a P4 2.67 Dual-Core / 3 gigs RAM / XP setup. What would you recommend if I were to look for a new (as in top-of-the-line new) video card?

I'm not very hardware-savvy.

And let's forget budget constraints for a moment. Thanks!

the p4 isn't dual core, is it a pentium d by chance?

either way you need to probably upgrade that first.
gbk is 50 probably

To find a job to pay for a new video card, turn to page 62.

To buy video card in a seedy back alley, turn to page 95.

I agree with NOESC.

I think your video card is a good match for your CPU. No point in going to a faster videocard unless you are getting a faster CPU. I would look and see if your motherboard supports Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad's.
