Websites that pay for videos...

Apparrently I foud a better more realistic project than doing an mmo, atleast for the immediate future and need some advice. This doesn't mean I won't work on it, it means this is something that can be started much sooner and easier.

I've looked on the internet yet I can't seem to find the one thats best for us. A friend and I have talked about doing some videos on reviewing video games for the hispanic community, along with a couple other friends. We have everything needed, from cameras, consoles, place, furniture, etc etc. Everyone owns something that we can pitch in. We also have friends who can easily start chains and help us promote our videos all throughout mexico, however we are not sure with which service we should go with.

I've come here to see if anyone can clarify and reccomend the best service there is. There are websites that pay you for videos that you upload and are popular, they pay per every so many views. They through in adds as well.

Which one(s) should we look into?
Nothing to see here, move along.

Make a video, put it on youtube.
Keep doing so, and maybe somebody will pick you up. Nobody is going to pay for an unknown mexican kids videos.

You fail to understand what he's asking.

I fail to know the answer. The only sites I know that pay for user videos are uh... well I can't link them on this forum.

Yes, there are very few good (like 2 or 3 AT MOST) video game review shows in spanish available to the general public in Mexico, and they are ALWAYS behind by a few months (in short, they totally suck, and do very little to attract good gamers (they throw in a hot chick and an attractive idiot who don't know what they are talking about, suck at video games and well, do nothing to attract most peoples attention)). Through the internet how ever this will be much more available, and we plan to be constant and deliver entertainment. We will also host video game contests, and speak of anime conventions that come ever few months, speak of local and national video game events etc etc. We have endless material.

Tiberium Empire: They don't care who you are, as long as your videos are popular. Some of them have a minimum such as 20,000 views before they star paying. There is one which I've been reccomended twice, but I don't know what their rates are or how it works. (www.revver.com) . I've also looked at meta cafe, how good are they?

Revver <- FAQ

Edit: Aah, just saw your previous post. I don't have any first hand experience with them, but I would assume its a numbers game. The more visitors you can attract to your videos, the greater your chances they'll watch the commercial at the end.

First you have good content then you get sponsored, and you wont get either because you're doing it for the wrong reasons.

I would suggest just doing them on YouTube for a while, and once you get a following, seek other alternatives.

That's exactly what I said, and you said I failed.

We've done similiar things in various schools over the time, entertaining crowds of a couple hundred students. Not video game related obviously, but still, we got a good idea of how to do things.

Why not just post those videos on youtube then? If they entertained a couple hundred students, you might have the same luck on the web.

Assuming, of course, you are being entirely honest.

If you subtitle some of your videos for the English speaking audience, I'd be happy to check them out.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I was actually thinking of recording audio versions of my GameLemon reviews and overlaying the audio on some gameplay footage, but that takes time, and I've been pretty short on that lately.

We didn't do videos for these, we did live on stage comedy performance skethes for various classes. We'd compete for the best performance with the other classes. We did this mainly for the English, History and Spanish classes. We'd be given a subject or situaton on which we'd have to make a drama/play. We always went down the comedy route. The best performance in a class was then selected to compete with the others. Some times the judges were teachers, or a vote from the crowd. The crowd enjoyed us, but they voted for their friends mostly (the popular kids), so we'd end up in 2nd place. When it was the teachers judging, sometimes they didn't take too kindly to our sense of humor, but as long as we represented the subject properly, we got a good rating. Usually we were in first place when the teachers judged us.

Good times.

Nobody working on this is expecting to make lots of money. In my case, I want to be able to afford a better computer in a couple months, without having to interrupt schooling for a fulltime job.
