I wouldn't buy a computer online if my life depended on it. I've had 4 people tell me that they bought a Dell, and it worked great, but the day it failed (and they all did, well before warranty wore off), it took nearly 2-3 months to get it back after sending it in for repairs.

I would never buy a computer in a store. Not only are you ripped off, but you get the same warranty you do online: you will wait just as long, as all they do is ship the thing to the same place to get it repaired. It's rare they're able to fix it themselves.

My bad, I guess I wasn't clear. I wouldn't buy from a retail chain like Future Shop, or Walmart, or Best Buy, etc. I meant a store that'll put computers together from the parts you chose. Clones, not some retail brand. All for excellent prices, and when a part breaks, they send it in and supply a replacement one in the meantime.
