Sony motion control demo...amazing.

Details: It looked ridiculously responsive. You can use two controllers at once: for example bow and arrow, sword and shield, pick up items and move them around the room and play with physics.
Everything was in very early stages, but it looked ridiculously promising and looked like it will pretty much blow Nintendo's Wii-Remote out the window, IMO.
Also of note: FFVII on Playstation network today!

I want a COD version of that MAG game. But I still can't see myself buying a PS3.

I don't see myself buying a new console this generation, but I am very interested what the next generation will have to offer.

MAG looked pretty ****e to me, and I wasn't overly enthused by the motion thing. :P
nope.

*yawn*, more waggle gimmicks. Yay for FF7 though. A legal version that I can play on both my PSP and PS3 will be nice. Especially since I don't have the PS1 discs and refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for it.

I really don't think I like where this generation of gaming is going. :(

For my part, it was Mass Effect 2, even if I already knew it was coming.

This is the problem.

Nintendo knows how to make quality games- so regardless of if the Wii is gimmicky and not as powerful as these, it was the O.G. and it's not going anywhere.

Sony and Microsoft both showed off very snazy motion controls, but you need fun games as well. If anything, companies trying to imitate and out-do nintendo is more gimmicky than nintendo itself.
Think while it's still legal.

Yeah, it looked amazingly poor.

First off, the Xbox 360's Project Natal makes this thing look like an absolute toy.

Second off, it wasn't demonstrated in any games, only specific premade environments.

Third off, even someone who apparently had a lot of experience with it was having incredible difficulty lining up things (see also: the tennis ball experiment).

Forth off, it requires the EyeToy.

It's going to flop terribly, even if its somewhat more accurate than the Wiimote, it simply is too little too late. The Wii already has captured that form of motion, and Microsoft is moving to completely dominate it by leaps and bounds with completely controller-less technology, combined with other features (voice recognition/facial recognition, etc).

no, everyone is just behind Nintendo. Nintendo within 3-4 years will have to either make a new system or try to make more responsive controls/better interface for their wii-remote. The software will trickle down for Sony and maybe MS (though I haven't seen their new motion stuff yet) eventually. Remember Nintendo only had like 2 wii-mote esque games, Zelda and Red Steel, when Wii Debuted.

What I'm trying to say is that this looks like a very VERY early version of something that could be awesome. This looks like, if perfected, it could surpass what the Wii is capable of right now.

Wii Sports? Rayman Raving Rabbids?

Also, yes, Nintendo may make a new console in 3-4 years. I suspect Microsoft will as well. Sony won't, because they insist their platform has 10 year lifespan (it doesn't).

You can't "trickle down" what the Wii has innovated easily. Even if at launch it didn't have many games supporting it, it has a TON now. And it is INCLUDED, with EVERY Wii system. No accessories, no extra fees.

And if you haven't seen the 360 Project Natal demo, then you should. It seriously makes Sony's stuff look like the Power Glove.

Well, anything can surpass Wii's motion abilities as of now. It wasn't good to begin with.

Natal, Nintendo's Motion+ and Sony's new motion stuff... when will the madness stop. This reminds me of the 90s when people were crazy about "multimedia".

But I will say it's nice that Motion+ will be bundled with software.
