I've tried this on Windows and OSX. It looks lovely on OSX, horrendous on Windows, why do they keep insisting on amateurish gradients for the Windows skin?

I do like the tab views though

See, I've JUST reformatted my laptop, and I'm trying to stop having several browsers.

Wow... no joke, this thing is fast. Fast to the point where it throws me off because I don't expect the page to load that fast.
Lyrics are highly overrated.

i vaguely remeber making a thread about the alpha version of this and everyone poopoo-ing it amd saying how one browser isnt really faster then another....

Opera really isn't that fast, even in version 10. IE is the only thing slower than it.

Do people time these things or is it just a feeling?

CM is that rendering speed or interface responsiveness? I'd give up a few ms of rendering speed to make the damn interface fast any day of the week. On firefox, for example, I always get a delay creating a new tab or switching to a different tab, where these operations on opera are instant. Granted my single-core processor is old-school but like I said, interface responsiveness is more important to me.

(but I still use firefox because of ad block plus)

That's what I was referring to when I said "fast". Especially on OSX, the interface is extremely snappy when compared to firefox.

Are there any other GOOD browsers with a really fast interface?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I use firefox so extensively as a web dev platform that it's becoming unusable for general browsing. I've tried Chrome at work for general browsing but my work machine is a horribly sluggish and unstable beast that it's not a fair trial. The only thing that doesn't look nice with Opera 10 on OSX is the form controls, they're pretty ugly.

I use Chrome. Opera and Firefox are the other good choices.

Safari 4 beta is supposed to be fast but I didn't care for the new interface. Basically it's a rip off of Chrome but it looks horrible and the tabs just don't work as well.
