Is it just me, or does everyone else try and figure out what the person is saying when they are swearing in a particular thread and the ***'s blurt it out?

I catch myself doing that all the time..

I do. I was actually trying to figure out if you said [ace]'s, or just put 3 *'s.

Most of them are confusing.. like.. a lot of times there's an abnormally large amount of asterisks in a row and it doesn't make sense at ALL. Other times, there isn't a naughty word that could possibly work in the context that is as long as it is. At any rate, asterisks annoy the hell out of me.

What makes me laugh is all the people who asterisk out words but its so blatantly [darn] obvious what the word is anyways.

[The example you just made is in fact against the (or just my) rules. Editing one letter is not sufficient. In fact, I personally think censoring the whole thing shouldn't be allowed. Learn better words, all of you. -Vinny]

The word(s) you might not figure out by asterisks (but you still have to 'figure out' right now):

@$$B@$t@rd
B@$t@rd
and @$$ with 'hole' at the end.

This stuff gets bleeped, yet we can insult certain religions by using G.D. (figure it out).

Yeah, ditto, though I don't censor myself at all on my blog... on our message boards though I'm really tight on it and have to update the filters the whole time because some wiseguy finds a clever way around things.
