Looks kinda cool, but I don't know about flashing the objectives on the walls and stuff. I'm mean, if it is supposed to be "immersive", seems like that would yank me right out of the SC universe. I think it looks really cool and cinematic, but takes away from immersiveness.

Looks really cool. Especially how fast Sam is now. I think I rather like the new art direction as well.

I still need to play Double Agent (ooh, $10 on Steam...), but what I've seen and read about Conviction so far is awesome.

Oooh, looks great! I like the direction a lot of games are taking these days: fast, brutal stealth.

It looks good, gives off a similar vibe to the Bourne movies.

I haven't played a Splinter Cell since the first one but this looks pretty good.
nope.

I own the first one, and I don't have any problems with it at all.

Yeah. It was a decent game, but compared to all the others, it wasn't as good. The undercover aspect was neat, especially how you had to sneak around to complete objectives for the NSA, but the rest of the game lacked.

good for you... your computer is not my computer

my main problem is after some fiddling with ini settings shadows "work" but not 100%... the most obvious problem is the shadows from things like fences and grates arent being cast on the characters...

to make it clear... this shot from the internet shows how it should look... if i took a shot from the same spot sam wouldn't have those shadows on him, the shadows would be on the floor and the wall and he would cast a shadow on the floor and the wall but no shadows on him

the fact that it used to work annoys me greatly

if i installed ancient drivers it would probably work properly again but that's just stupid

What graphics card do you have?

I've been playing Stalker recently on my 6200, I had to down grade the drivers cause the newer ones would crash it, and most every other 3D app that used DX 9.0c extensively. I recommend you downgrade if it will work properly with everything.
Nothing to see here, move along.

if i downgrade then some newer games will crash or bluescreen

the shadows are probably the most common issue people have with this game

before i got double agent, i went through each of the splinter cell games...the original was definitely the longest one out of them all...

Is it? Really? I have the original drivers installed that came with my card (I think. I know I haven't updated them), and old games (for the most part) and new ones work fine. It always seemed to me that the newer drivers gave me more problems than just sticking with what I had.

I'll admit that it took me about 3 days to get Thief the Dark Project to work, but only part of that was a graphic issue.
