because you know spree killing is a recent thing that only started after violence was depicted in video games

which do you consider the unpussy-like original? the third reich or something before?

Lets just say Germany is trying to become more wussy than France.

Why Germany? I've always wondered that. They have a pretty violent history, themselves.

I'd be surprised to see this go through without someone kicking up a fight. I mean who decides what's violent? That NERF game that's just a watered down FPS for instance is a prime example of a violent game with kiddy window dressing.

It's all a bit subjective.

How adorable, it's like they think any company except Sony cares about the European market.

just before WW1

the third reich was like a kid (hitler) throwing a fit (invading other countries and killing jews) because he lost a fight (WW1) and got spanked for fighting (treaty of versailles)

the entente was like a kid (france) throwing a fit (being invaded and humilitated) because he lost a fight (Franco-Prussian War) and got spanked for fighting (treaty of frankfurt)

I read about this on RPS. Well, the whole "PUSHING THROUGH SOMETHING TO BAN EVERYTHING" bit.

Evidently most Germans that want to play any of about a billion impossible-to-get games just import or pirate.

I doubt this will stop anyone.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

yeah the lawmakers are quite :downswords: if they think that banning the sale of violent games will do stop people from playing... unless they want to stop everyone at the border to make sure they aren't bringing any violent video games into the country

that works on most dreamcasts but most consoles prevent this from working... you can use a modchip to get around that but that voids warranties and tends to get your console blacklisted from xbox live and i'm sure PSN and whatever nintendo calls their online thing does the same thing with modded consoles

I'm quite sure Germany will censor a big part of X box live and not allow multiplayer games of "violent" video games. So it really won't matter anymore will it?

...But it would block you from playing anything whatsoever.

Including the non-violent stuff.
nope.
