I totally typed SQ instead of SK....


So I was installing Daemon.
Installs fine.
Go to reboot to complete install.
Computer freezes when Daemon boots up to finish.
I can't do anything about it. Freezes immediately. Tried it a half dozen times.

Since it's not technically installed yet I can't find it to delete.

Anyone know where I could find and destroy it? Some temp folder somewhere maybe?

And windows 7 is safe mode rocks. I'm gonna go back to this look if its an option.

What is "Daemon"? Are you talking about Daemon-Tools? Last I checked it doesn't work on Windows 7. Nor does Alcohol 52 Free, it's the SPTD driver they both use, it doesn't work with 7 yet. Use Virtual CloneDrive instead.

The beta didn't work, but it supports the new release.
Or so the site says.

You mean it freezes when the DT installer is automatically started at boot?

There should be a key for Daemon-Tools' installer. Delete it in safe mode and the problem should go away. Also, if you want to delete the files, look in the key for the path of the executable that is running. Delete that folder. If you want to remove all traces of DT, I think all you should have to do from there is uninstall the SPTD driver, which should be in add/remove programs.

Daemon tools only works on win7 if you get a beta, and only on win7 ver 7100 upward.
