Anyone else played this yet? I bought it for PC on the 16th and beat it the 18th on normal difficulty only dying a handful of times. All together about 7-8 hours (which included some screwing around with the positron glider, bozon darts and other weapons). Gonna start on hard difficulty next. Probably gonna get it for the 360 sometime so I can play it on Live with a few friends (something that got taken out of the PC version).

Playability was nice too, after some fiddling with the installer (seems to be a widespread problem) and adjusting for mouse sensitivity everything worked well. The controls were solid and flowed well. It played very much like Gears of War, same camera style and control scheme. There was no getting stuck in geometry or unrealistic physics that I noticed. The world is interactive, you can burn trees and break stones with the positron gliders, which turns out to be a lot of fun to do and can make finding some things easier. Especially on shandor island in the hedge maze.

The storyline was really good, on par with the movies in my opinion. I enjoyed how they went back to Evo Shandor and his Gozer cult. The new ghosts to fight were well done as well as the ones that were seen in the movies like the grey lady, slimer, and stay puft . I was a little disapointed with the overall length of it, but there's a lot of action packed into it with very little down time between fights.

The AI was really well done as well, when you need to be revived (think gears of war) one of the other ghostbusters actually does come to revive you within a few seconds, there's only a few times where they didn't because there was so much else going on they couldn't get to me. The AI ghostbusters switched weapons for different enemies if you scanned them and found their weakness. The banter they yell out during fights is humorous too.

I suspect the replay value will be pretty good with all the cursed artifacts you can find (a lot of which are easter eggs like a ghostbusters DVD and an Ecto-1 RC car), plus there's a setup for a second game at the end of the credits (they mention in too in the first cutscene if you're paying attention).

Overall I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10 for the PC version. Venkman just didn't seem like the Venkman from the movies, something about how he acted or what he said, but I can't really put my finger on it. Also would have liked some multiplayer co-op and really wanted to drive the ecto-1b (which they hint to you doing, but kill your hopes with a sarcastic "NAH") , but it was really good otherwise.

Cool, I have been debating if I should get Prototype or Ghostbusters. Very Informative review, thanks.

I am planning on getting this, but have been unsure what version to get. I like PC games better, but this game seemed more like a console title. Since I don't play XBL anyway I will probably just get it on Steam.

I heard the PC version has no multiplayer. But comes at a cheaper price.

Looks like a console-oriented game. I think I have to watch Ghostbusters... because I never did. :(

I'm loving the game. Haven't finished it yet, but I'm pretty close I think.

Just finished today. Pretty sweet. It does play like a 3rd movie. I do feel like I got the Ghostbusters experience with it.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

I'm liking the game too, a real authentic Ghostbusters experience. It's nice to have a good Ghostbusters game for once. Not sure why there isn't co-op multiplayer for the PC version, but there is for the Wii (local), and PS3/360 (online).

I just rewatched Ghostbusters after finishing the game. Man, the amount of time they spent preserving little details from the movies in the game is amazing. Things like the traps, the layout of the hotel ballroom, the proton packs, the uniforms, Ecto-1, etc. The game versions of these things are almost perfect replicas down to the smallest little details it seems.

The only inconsistency I've noticed is the location of the lockers in the HQ, in the first movie they're right by the firepole but in the game they're on the opposite side of the room.

Playing it on the PS3 (Not as precise with the aiming) died a few times and its got horrific old school loading times.

Capturing works really well, it feels like alot of effort sometimes to drag a ghost into the trap. Dearly want to try the co-op on the PS3 now...

Anybody else find the mouse controls on the PC very wonky? I couldn't stand it and had to plug in my ps3 controller and now it works beautifully and nice and fluent, but when I switch back to mouse/keyboard the mouse is very imprecise in where I move, sometimes it moves barely an inch and others it moves me in a complete 360 with a millimeter of movement.
