Hell if I'm paying Zoombak $15 a month for something I'm just using as a toy. Are there any out there that you can just buy and use?

Like every portable GPS made by Garmin, Tom Tom, etc.

Pretty much what Darth said. I'm using the Garmin nuvi 780 and it does include an optional subscription to MSN services for traffic update, weather, etc. However, the keyword is optional.

You guys fail big time.

I'm talking about those little transmitters that you can put in your car, your pet, your kid, whatever, and then track that device's location from afar. Like if I want to know where somebody is taking my car if they borrow it, or if I wanted to mail it across the country for fun and monitor the path it takes.

No need to be such a dick about how you badly posted your op with too little information.

[newsflash, this is also being a dick]

Why would anyone offer that for free?

I'd also like it to make me breakfast every morning and give me head every night. For free.

You fail, sir.

I mentioned Zoombak in my original post! If that doesn't give it away nothing will.

"Why would they offer that for free?"

Things are being offered today for free that we would have never imagined 10, even 5 years ago! It's a legitimate question.

Don't get all pissy because you don't know what he's talking about.

Offering things like GPS locators without charging for the service makes zero business sense, so I think you're going to be hard pressed finding one that does what you want for free.
