Not what I meant, but I see where it could have been interpreted that way.
From our cognitive point of view I would agree. However, she still has the cognitive perspective of a toddler. You know the old saying, "you don't know what you have until you lost it"? She's never had it to begin with, so from her point of view she's enjoying the life of a toddler.
I do understand what you guys are saying. I really do and from an 'out of the box' perspective, I agree. I wouldn't want to live that way either. I just wanted to point out:
- Even though she's had several serious illnesses in the last 16 years, she's made full and complete recoveries from them. She's recovered from illnesses that otherwise healthy individuals may have died from. That's amazing, and I didn't want that point to be down played.
- Even though we know it would suck to be a toddler because you're limited on what you can do, cognitively, she probably doesn't understand the benefits what comes with growing older. Namely being self-sufficient (ie, not needing someone else to wipe your butt for you).
That's the points I was making. It all depends on your point of view, I suppose.
