Anybody know anything about professional photo printers/printing?

I need a really good printer that can print large photo's (8x10 for sure, maybe 11x14 and perhaps even 16x20). This is for a business so these need to come out looking absolutely professional and the printer will be getting lots of use. If I can do this for under a grand, that's great, but if I have to spend 2-3 grand, that's fine too, I just need to weigh my options...:psylon:

Any experts?

At work we use a Canon PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II. I'd give it a 8/10 rating. Cost is around $750 or $800. Make sure you use good photo paper.

About how many 8x10 full color prints can you get between ink changes, and how much do the inks cost? (Trying to get a feel for $$cost/page....)

If you paid for a print out of that printer, would you be happy?

I don't know how many photos we got off of a cartridge(s), as it's a community printer, and I only change the cartridge every once in a while. Sorry.

I'm satisfied with the prints. I wouldn't have any reservations in using it for paid work. That's what we use it for.
