Ah, I fully agree, although it was incredibly tough to see your "joke" when you said "no, suck it, apple".

Suck it, Blackberry?

We should follow Europe's model in which cell phone locking is illegal. I want to try out the iPhone but that means I have to break the contract I have with Verizon or wait another...year..yeah a year. Only that, I have to force myself into a 2 year contract with AT&T (right?).

Although on playing devil's advocate, any cell phone on any network could allow for one kind of phone to utterly trounce the others. Case in point, iPhone. If it were available on Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile, all the other phones would have a hard time competing.

Bah. It sucks no matter how I think of it.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

That's what I was getting at - even that is too annoying for me, and I don't have anything that pushes in iphone (apart from mail and sms, and mail doesn't notify).

It's totally a personal thing - like I said, if I had one I bet I'd really like it. Apart from being constantly bothered by it ;)

Well if you absolutely don't want to be alerted to ANYTHING, it's possible to turn off most of that (IM and Email alerts particularly).

I'll be fairly honest here. The Pre is a beta phone. Bleeding edge technology. If you buy it going in knowing this, you'll enjoy it. If you buy it expecting perfect polish then you'll be disappointed.

I agree. It's good for hacking so I don't mind. I'm going to try to hack roaming so I can force data roam. Sprint customers get free voice and data roaming on Verizon's network via a deal Sprint has with Verizon. How awesome would it be to use the Pre on Verizon's network. :awesome:

Yeah, I'm just glad I got stuck with T-Mobile so I can at least jailbreak an iPhone and use it on my network. I feel bad for verizon customers :(
