Infomercials in European politics
2009-07-05, 1:51 PM #1
I imagine most of you are familiar with the Obama infomercial. I was wondering why informercials are not used in European politics. Was looking on google and found nothing concrete.

What I was thinking maybe the timeslot they would need on TV is not possible to get or budget issues, or legal issues preventing them to do it?

Anyone any ideas?

I need it for a paper that I'm heping someone to write, but would need facts.

We don't use the word infomercial, and in britain no we don't have them.

Although we do have the odd political party broadcast for about 3 minutes before the 6 o'clock news on bbc 2.

It's illegal.

Any idea what they talk about in those clips? Looking online right now to see if I can find some samples.

We have party political broadcasts, and they're pretty ****ing obnoxious. So combine that with QVC style shopping channel?
