what are some "must have" mods for this game?

i recently bought the game after playing it vanilla...through other means, and would like to start again with community improvements.

links would be appreciated, naturally.

I can't think of any must-haves, the core gameplay is pretty solid.

Theres one I consider a must-have, but I can't remember it's name.
It just cleaned up the menus a bit so everything's easier to read and choose.

FOOK

Fallout Overhaul Kit.

All you need, really.

Oh, and Martigen's Mutant Mod.

I'm debating getting a new video card so I can mod. I have tons of ideas for quests in the Capital Wastelands.

Now I wonder if I can afford it ;(

The question is: How is the F3 modding community? Worthwhile or dead?

Pretty big actually, some major breakthroughs have been made and more mods are made everyday. I would say it's bigger then Oblivion.

You should definitely follow Martigen's Mutant Mod. If its anything like the Monster Mod he did for oblivion, you'll be in it for the long haul.

Is this game worth getting for the 360? Or should I wait until I can afford a gaming PC? (which will probably be a while...)

Well I loved the game on 360. The only boon you get from the PC is better graphics if your computer can handle it, and the ability to use mods. Whether you care about those or not is up to you.

For my part I had an excellent time with FO3 on the 360. Now I'm just considering modding it.
