what? I'm confused. Americans are the ones who would read 7/8/09 as July 8th. Sensible people would read it as August 7th.

But in 99 it was 9/9/99 and nothing happened. GEE I WONDER WHY COULD IT BE BECAUSE IT WAS 1999 NOT 99 AND THIS IS 2009 NOT 9? Ignoring part of the date to make the pattern work does not count.
