Well all five episodes of Torchwood have been and gone and it was ****ing kaktacular! :neckbeard:

Honestly this was easily the best thing I've seen on tv in ages; whilst I could start giving you a brief outline if you've not heard about this, I'm sure if you've read threads like this before from me you'll know that I'm terrible at describing things. Basically if any of you yanks and pseudoyanks like sci-fi or just good tv I insist that you download and watch all 5 episodes immediately, regardless of whether you've seen Torchwood before or not, it works very well as a standalone story, reintroducing you to the remaining characters.

For those of you that have seen it and are probably brits or sugarless, I'd like to see your input probably keeping spoilers to a minimum. :P
nope.

Brilliant. I like the alien design, the writing, the sheer creepiness of it all

It was brilliant, if was the level of excellence that Doctor Who should be aiming for. It really demonstrates the power of serialised rather than episodic television, it's the same reason why HBO/Showtime shows like The Wire are so much better than what's on the main US networks.

I watched one of the trailers (the one where all of the children were screaming & then chanted "we are coming". It looks like it may be a decent show. I'll have to check it out once the first season is available on Netflix.
? :)

Yeah it was great, its a shame it was only 5 episode for series 3 and we are left wondering what happens next, I watch 1-4 back to back one evening and watched 5 last night, was truly amazing.

I liked how it faced up to hard decisions, rather than having a convenient last-minute plan which saves everyone and everyone lives. The 9th Doctor made a big deal about the rare occasion where everyone lives (The Doctor Dances), yet the 10th Doctor always seems to find the magic solution in the nick of time.

yeah, watched it here in Australia as we got it pretty much same day as in the UK (<3 uktv for getting broadcast rights :D )

and GOD DAMN was it a dark and depressing show. Though I do agree, very fantastic, and very well written.

Also, I agree, it is a very fine example of serielized tv.

Yeah, it was awesome, Peter Capaldi was especially brilliant. I thought the 456 was a bit ****, though. Everything else had great(ish) production values, but the monster was more like classic Doctor Who cardboard-box monster.
