I just know that Brock Lesnar was in the WWE for awhile, then tried to get into the NFL with the Vikings, and failed at that.

I'm quite happy about Lesnar's victory, despite him acting like a total *** before & after the fight. The fans haven't taken him seriously, even when he became champion & that has obviously taken a toll on whether or not he gives a **** about what they think. I really hope that Fedor will sign that 1 fight contract with UFC because he's the only person that I can see having a chance against Lesnar.

If you've never heard of either you're probably not much of an MMA fan. Not that this is a bad thing. I started watching UFC when it first started (the Royce Gracie days) & haven't missed one since.

George St. Pierre kicked some *** last night as well.

Isn't that sort of thing a part of these events anyway?
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Nope. I would estimate that 90% of all fighters show a great deal of respect for one another after the match is over (bowing, hugging, saying good things about their opponent, etc.). There's a ton of smack-talking before the fights but that's generally understood to be a psychological war of sorts.

It is sort of smart on his part though. The more hate he stirs up, the more people want to see him fight.

Yeah, I thought we were comparing stations.

I think it's unlikely that Fedor will fight for the UFC, but it would be interesting. I love watching him fight, but honestly after his last fight against Arvlofsky I have to wonder if he's got it in him. It was a hollow victory at best.

Speaking of Fedor, if either of you are interested in free tickets to see the next Affliction card, this might be up your alley: http://lockflow.com/viewtopic.php?t=19461. I realize it looks a little sketchy because it's on a set of forums, but the guy posting works for the website and is a close relative of mine.

Good find. I'll have to look in to that.

I was going to get the PPV, but kinda glad I didn't. I did want Lesner to win, but man I wish the fight was a bit even. Oh well. Guess I'll look forward to BJ Penn's next fight next month.

Lesnar's scary. There isn't a HW in the UFC that can handle his size, speed and athelticism.

My favorite fight though was seeing Bisping get knocked the **** out by Dan Henderson. Bisping was such a douche and hypocrite on the last season of TUF that he needed to have his *** handed to him like that.

Lesnar lives like an hour from where I live... hes a crazy mother ****er.
2009-07-13, 9:29 AM #23
Where do you live? He trains an hour and a half away from me.

Lesnar trains in Minnesota.
