I saw it in Naples, Florida about 2 months ago (some time in May) off of a dock. Saw a lot of them when the sun was setting then the next day my friend who had a camera was there and took a few pictures of the only one we saw during the day:

Definitely mollusca. Sea cucumber or nudibranch or squidwardly thing.

Looks like a cuttlefish. It looks like you can see tentacles towards the top, which I'm guessing is the anterior end. I'm not positive, though.

sadly, the images don't work for me.. but by the comments it sounds exciting. :o

I'm not sure, but I think it's a coral reef.
