whoa i didnt know you could use a scripting program to modify games like these
pretty cool

do they use Lua in commercial games? i'm intrigued by this scripting language
never heard of it before

and does anyone here use Lua?

Garrys Mod is pretty heavily LUA controlled.

WoW's user interface is LUA. Never worked with it though.

Crysis uses LUA.

I'm not very good at LUA, but I have used it to modify a few scripts in Crysis.

lua scripting is very cool.. i currently have it implemented somewhat in the 2D game engine im working on right now

It is also used in tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, and Snort. I actually plan on integrating into a simulation I develop at work. Should be pretty fun to work on.

Lua was designed to be a lightweight, embeddable scripting language. As a result it's used in a lot of products, such as games where it's used for scripting.
