My official title is Information Systems Hardware Engineer. In reality I'm just a hardware break-fix guy for Northwestern Mutual Life in Milwaukee. I deal with all laptops, desktops and printers that are not multiple function devices.

I run and maintain multiple HP Indigo Presses for an in-house print shop owned by Allchem Industries. Which means most of my day is spent waiting for a machine to finish its work while I'm here on massassi. :D

Before stating that I was starting my own business, I felt it necessary to list my background so I wouldn't get the "Hurr, your starting you own business, what do you know?" comments.

Senior Computer Repair Technician :(

I'm hoping to go back to school next year. I have an A.A.S. (Information Technology) but I want to at least get a B.A.. My wife & I are also looking in to the possibility of starting a small French bakery &/or cafe. However, I would love to get in to programming. I took a few programming courses (C/C++ I/II, Java I/II & VB I) in college & really enjoyed it.

Mess Attendant/cadet.

10 hours a day washing dishs and related stuff.

4 hours on the bridge, learning how to be a Mate.

I've been working every day since June 8th, and have only touched land once. Finish this trip up on August 15th, go back to school on the 17th.

Its not a bad job. I make about $200 a day, and I can't spend it. Free room and board.. Travel to exotic places. Not to mention hoards of hot college chicks. Research vessels are pretty cool.

Plus, I got to send styrofoam cups down 2000m, shrinking them significantly. And the scientists gave me some rocks from the seafloor. When I got them they were 2 days old. Among the youngest rocks on the planet, for a little while anyway. >_>

so yeah
IM ON A BOAT

hey, I also am ON A BOAT.

You should all know why. If you don't you've been purposely avoiding my threads, and probably have no interest in this post anyway.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Actually that's how I got on the habit, yea :)
But I finished up School several months ago and have not gotten around to that "job" thing yet.
But I do "Charlie" work around here (Watch It's Always Sunny) and my roommates make a lot of money so they don't stress about me not having rent or food money.
2009-07-20, 4:29 PM #37
jeez if you were my roommate I'd be like "GET A JOB YOU BUM." You're lucky they're so nice. I hope you at least clean the house or do some chores or something to make up for their generosity.
