I know there are a few other motor sport fans here, and you may or may not have seen/heard about this but I thought it deserved to be mentioned.



What a bizarre wreck..

The williams designed car is said to meet the FIA 2005 F1 standards, and does have wheel tethers to keep that from happening, but you can see that it failed on both cars.

That's because the cars generate that much downforce its almost imposssible to get them off the ground.

:( If this wasn't about a man's death I'd probably say "bleh forumla 2".

You can watch NASCAR for that..

Didn't nascar invent (after Dale Earnhardt) special helmets just to prevent their heads bouncing around like that?

He sustained a head injury, hans devices keep you from snaping your neck, but when a 30-40lb wheel hits your helmet at 100mph not much can be done.

It took me several watches to figure out what happened (No audio, not sure if anything was mentioned).

You won't ever catch me driving those speeds with my head exposed like that, helmet or not.
