I got 10 A*s, but in maths and R.S. I came in the top 5 of all the people who took the exam!

Maths
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
English Language
English Literature
French
Religious Studies
Latin
Ancient Greek

It's 10 1/2 actually - RE counts as 1/2. And in this country most people only took 6 GCSEs.

At my school everybody did at least 9, most did ten, and a few of us did 11.

I can't vouch for 'em, but there probably are people who aren't as capable as others at dealing with a number of GCSEs.

And I took 11 full-course.

Back in the day I did 11 full, I didn't bother doing short course IT which quite a lot of people did. Quite a few people did 12, a couple did 13.

I originally wanted to do 13, but my school wouldn't let me. Hell, most of my school did 9. Only me and one other person did 10, and that was because I took the extra subject (ancient greek) in lunchtime. However, the advantage of not taking too many subjects is that you're more likely to get top grades in the ones you do!
