They Will Not Force Us. They Will Stop Degrading Us.

The paranoia is in bloom, the PR
The transmissions will resume
They'll try to push drugs
Keep us all dumbed down and hope that
We will never see the truth around
(So come on!)

Another promise, another scene, another
A package not to keep us trapped in greed
With all the green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on!)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Interchanging mind control
Come let the revolution take its toll if you could
Flick a switch and open your third eye, you'd see that
We should never be afraid to die
(So come on!)

Rise up and take the power back, it's time that
The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that
Their time is coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Hey .. Hey ... Hey .. Hey!

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Hey .. Hey ... Hey .. Hey!
Think while it's still legal.

I hope they purposely did that.
Or is that first line really not supposed to point out all the paranoia in this song ?

I am so very tired of "fight the man" music...

I'm starting to think Muse is a bit of a One Trick Pony.

Well, SAJN_Master/Rod-Nog/Victor Van Dort/SAJN/Jon likes them, so they certainly can't be very good

I was discussing this with a friend earlier- Muse has been evolving it's sound over the years from a raw over the top operatic sound to a more refined space rock kind of vibe. I personally think it's a good thing because as much as I enjoy their first three albums, I like that they are branching off in a slightly different direction- It keeps it fresh. So on one hand I complain that I miss Matt's ridiculous high pitched operatic wailing, I'm glad that they aren't just repeating what they've done over and over. Like any good band, they are keeping their core sound while also exploring other aspects of it. So to call them a one trick pony seems a bit backwards to me. This song is a bit 'Supermassive' in the sense that it's a relatively straightforward dance kind of song, but it's catchy and memorable, so what else can you ask for? The rest of the album isn't just a bunch of simple tracks- there are a lot of over the top WOW moments in the album, and the last three tracks just shoot off into something phenomenal and unexpected.

They're really breaking out the 70's influences with this so far, it sounds pretty glam rock. :D

Yeah it's good that they're doing things a bit differently, but the last album was pretty crap in places. Wish they'd stop using the "DEFINITE APOCOLYPSE AHEAD" mentality in their lyrics most of the time though. :P
nope.

It's much more like T. Rex, Slade, Suzi Quattro, Sweet and Gary Glitter.

I didn't have time to listen to the song, but the theme sounds awfully similar.
