I fired an ak-47 today

Went to a shooting range (an army run one in cambodia, which is where I am currently while on my holiday), payed US$40 for one magazine on an ak47, got 15 rounds on semi auto, then 15 rounds on full auto (the longest burst I did was 4 rounds though).

twas quite fun, even if i did only hit the target (about 50 metres away) 6 out of 30 times (though, it was the first time I had ever fired a real firearm).

So, what is the most interesting/exciteing weapon that you have ever gotten to fire.

(also, here you can fire an RPG round for between 200-400 US dollars depending on which range you are at)

I dunno, maybe a MK19. AT-4 made a loud boom, too.

Actually, now that I think about, an M60 in the window of a Black Hawk probably was the most exhilerating.

I've fired quite a few handguns, shotguns, a neat semi-auto .22, and my friends AR (forget what kind it is) that nearly destroyed my hearing because of his short barrel.

I dream to fire a M1 Garand and/or a Thompson (even though I hear Thompsons are dreadful).

I liked shooting the Thompson because the gun is so heavy there's very little to no muzzle rise. I can only put a couple clips at a time through a Garand though, damn thing kicks like a mule.

I think I preferred shooting the Swiss K-31 over the AK-47. Shoots 7.5x55mm, so we don't get to take it every time we go to the range. Beautiful rifle, shoots great. Also kicks good, but it's bolt-action.

umm.. .50 cal M2HB. :D But we talked about that already. I'm hoping we do a shoot on the 25MM gun.

And if we do a 5" shoot, I'll definitely have the monopoly on large caliber weapons. :o

The M249 SAW was pretty sweet.

i got to fire a few bursts of blanks from a fully functional MG42 at a reenactment

i've held a functional StG44 once also... but didn't get to fire it

never fired live ammo from a full auto... i'd certainly love to but no range nearby does full auto rental and none of the ranges in the area even allow full auto if you happen to own one

Smith and Wesson 629 .44 mag is the biggest I've shot.

Had a chance to shoot a Desert Eagle, but the owner told me if I shot it I was going to inherit the duty of cleaning it after we left the range. I told him to **** off.

it's his gun he should clean it... i wouldn't want anyone else cleaning my firearms especially something overpriced like a desert eagle

i'm assuming it was a .50AE model? i've fired a .44mag model once (the owner only required i pay him a couple bucks for the ammo) recoil was less than i expected and it was very accurate but i would never spend the $1500+ for one

I can't remember the gun aside from it being a revolver, I believe S&W, but I know the cartridge was .500. Managed to hit a plate about 75 yards away twice though, God only knows how. I've shot several .45s, they're ok. Never Colt, but my family owns several RIA .45s. My personal favorite gun is our Remington 870 for skeet, although I've never had a chance to shoot a round of trap.

Uncle has an M1 Carbine and an AK-47, but it's semi-automatic only, both of which I've shot. This is the same uncle who has a non-functional Sten.

My brother got to shoot a fully-automatic MP40 a couple years ago, sadly enough I wasn't at the place where this was going on so I couldn't participate.
I had a blog. It sucked.

We weren't shooting it at all because it's such a pain in the *** to clean. He told me I could shoot it if I cleaned it, and since I didn't want to deal with it, I declined.

I want an AR15.

Maybe I'll steal an M16 from the armory. >.>

I've never shot anything particularly amazing, but I still crack a goofy grin everytime I fire any of my guns. 12 gauge pump, mini-14, and a .45ACP semi-auto pistol.

You Americans and your exciting weapon firing opportunities!

The most exciting one I have fired would be the C9 LMG. The C6 was a larger caliber, but I enjoyed the C9 more. Throwing grenades was a hoot too!
