I'm leaving for Philmont in a few hours! Its a scouting reservation out in New Mexico, so I'll be out there on a 7 day trek. Im really excited to be going again, and this time I have a nice camera (nikon d50) to take with me.

Anyway thats really it. Im sure dalf will ban while im gone, so have fun with that!

Keep hydrated, otherwise you'll sweat all of your fat away.

All kidding aside, have a nice trip. I demand sweet pics. Remember the rule of thirds for sweet compositions.

I've been there twice. It was awesome both times. Hope you packed good rain gear. It rains there ever afternoon. Literally. Have fun. Hope you get to make your way up the Tooth of Time.

And its near Santa Fe so that's a bit cooler than ABQ. >_>

I was out there last summer, was up in North Philmont / Valle Vidal. Watch out for bears :P

This was my second time as well. Definitely brought good rain gear and warm clothes. thankfully it only rained on us once! We didnt make it to the Tooth, but we did do Mt Phillips. I did Mt Baldy the last time I was there.

The weather was pretty good. Not too hot, but pretty chilly in the morning.

As for animals we saw: Deer, Cows, Horses, Burrows, Donkeys, Rattle Snake (in the campsite :hist101:) and a Bear on the way back to basecamp.

Ill write up a big post later. Im currently trying to sort through the 811 photos i took x_x
