WHAT'S WRONG WITH ALL YOU EAST COAST B**CHES?!

You can buy a PSP at [store] it costs [money]

I don't know, I'm tired. Use google. :smith::smith::smith:

actually, i can't buy PSP at [store] unless it is [onlinestore] because i am in the middle of the ocean. And I'm not being lazy, but I could check maybe 5 sites in a half hour whereas most of you could check like 20 in 5 minutes, then link me the best. This slow internet is really a pain in the ***.

Can't you buy it at [Certain Military Store] with [Sweet T!ts Discount] ?

well i could buy it at [NEX-(navy version of PX)] with [NO TAX!!!11] but no [Sweet T!ts Discount], but that would require waiting until i get home, which won't happen til [way too long from now].

On the other hand, we're pulling into Bahrain on [Undisclosed date]. I wonder if they might have one at the [NEX] there.

Probably not. Popular small personal electronic devices sell rather fast at places like that. Unless you want to try to find a used one online somewhere I would just go with someplace proven like Amazon. If you missed my other thread I got lucky and picked up an original DS with 141 games (one real DS and the other a GBA bootleg cart loaded with ROMs) for $20 in one of our local national shops. I have now spent over 4 times that amount on games.

Same way they stock the rest of the store or brings them their mail, I suppose.

hurr.

Now I'm serverely disappointed in the lack of useful links to inexpensive PSPs.

And Krok, yes actually. They fly mail (including packages) in to us on SH-60 helicoptors which land on our flight deck (that's the USS John S McCain, but it's the same class of ship as I'm on).

They also flew me in on an SH-60 when I joined the ship mid-deployment.

You guys always want to give me crap for not doing anything in the middle of the night. :p It's 12:30, and I'm waiting to go on watch in an hour. So basically I'm not sleeping tonight. And this morning we got a shipment of small arms ammunition so I had to get up at 5 am (on my day off) to help unload and store a bunch of metal boxes.

PSP 3000 @ Amazon = $169.99

PSP 3000 @ Newegg = $169.99

PSP 3000 @ BestBuy = $169.99

PSP 3000 @ Walmart.com = $169.00 (woo save 99 cents)

PSP 3000 @ CircuitCity = $169.99

PSP 3000 @ Target = $169.99

And it's more of the same at Sears, Buy.com, GameStop, and Radio Shack. Not that I would buy pocket lint at radio shack...

gah I typed up a post earlier but internet went down... anyway:

Thanks for the links Chewbubba, since they're all the same price (whoohoo Walmart), I'm gonna be trying to look around Ebay, I guess. I saw a deal the other day (already sold) that seemed a bit better.

If that doesn't work, I'll go with Amazon, cause they have free shipping.

Anyway, if anyone happens to come across any good deals on ebay or woot or anything like that in the next couple days, PM me or leave a link here. I don't want to spend $170 if I can help it. :)

Just out of curiousity, what kind of bad experience did you have at Radio Shack?

Also, did you get my PM and understand what it was in reference to?

I've observed that their merch was way overpriced (imo). But I've always had to buy stuff from them (cord adapters, wall warts, etc), so not much choice around here.

I just saw your message (it didn't pop up with a notification... strange...), and no, I have no idea what you're talking about. :)

New PM sent.

I used to go to Radio Shack all the time as a kid. Back then it was more cool electronics than toys and I was into all that stuff. There was one next to the grocery store my parents went to so I pretty much made weekly trips there.

I used to spend a lot of money there. Or at least it was a lot for a kid. Buying tools and gadgets. My TV got fried in an electrical storm (moments before I finally decided to unplug it) and I replaced it with some cool '80s tech portable LCD black and white TV. I think it was over $100 but I can't really recall. Anyway, it had a hinged lid that needed light to shine through the screen and reflect the image off a mirror to watch. An external light could be attached as well.

Well, it was way too impractical to replace the 13" black and white tv I had so I returned it and bought a normal 5" portable set. I guess the guy didn't like losing his commission because I was treated like crap after that.

Several years after that, late '80s early '90s, it seemed that the new way to conduct business was high pressure sales. At that time I was on the opposite coast. Really turned me off. I still made a couple purchases. A VCR for my parents and later I got them a new color television but you practically had to fight to get out the door with just what you went in there to buy and nothing else.

Now it seems to be a little more normal again, just overpriced, but often it is the only place locally to find some niche component or tool that you don't care to wait to get delivered.
