Little Obsessions.

So I just spent 3 hours looking for win95 sound card drivers (So that I can run it in a VM) and I realised that I tend to obsess about things easily, Case and point- 67,000 roms and 8 VMs (95,98,Me,2000,3.11,Nt 4.0, Dos 6.11, XP)

What do you obsess over?

Now on the topic of VMs, is there anywhere I can get ISO files of really old systems? I can't find NT 1-3 or Windows 1-3, or any DOS earlier then 6.22 anywhere. Before you ask "why" I have no reason.

I bet they won't be ISOs.

Back on topic, I wash my hands more than I need to, among other compulsive behaviors.

Well it doesn't matter, I can convert the files myself.

On Topic- I have every single MST3K episode and every single episode of Sonic Underground (Nostaligia trumps watchability)

I have one computer running continuously converting DVDs into high quality MP4 files (chose that over other formats because it suits my needs better). Right now I have three seasons of Alias, six seasons of Highlander, seven seasons of 24, and four seasons of Battlestar Galactica left to complete before I redeploy next month. Seems like I brought just the right amount of DVDs as I should have just enough external harddisk space here to finish this up. Sucks, that they will be full and heavier since I am going to have to hand carry them all back with me, though.

Hmm, now that I think of it, I'd have to say Firefly/Serenity were a small obsession for a good long while. I'm still a huge fan but I don't want the entire series and movie once a month anymore. XD

Are you saying DVDs with data on them weigh more?

No, silly. My externals will be full and, therefore, heavier. Duh!

Where the heck are you keeping 250 hours of MST3K at? And where did you obtain the first 2 episodes? >.>

Because he's not a bad poster? Sure, he's still young and might have been a bit silly in the past, but unlike warlockmish, most of TE's threads aren't that crappy.

It's only 135gb. A TB external drive is only like $80 now.

135GB if you don't actually keep DVD quality video around, maybe. Otherwise you're looking at probably more than 2TB.

All that matters is the sound quality. I don't need DVD quality video of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians with a cardboard cutout of a gumball machine in front.

My experience making "DVD quality" h264 mp4 files are about 1GB per hour. The average "hour" TV episodes tends to be a bit less than a GB and the average movie a tad over two. So 250 hours about 250 gigs.

From swapping harddrives and movies with other people over here I have found acceptable movies under a gig. Anything significantly under that tends to be crap at fullscreen.

I'm slowly burning them off, and the answer to number two is I didn't, and I wish.

Also it's all VHS quality, but for MST3K that's fine.
2009-08-14, 5:13 PM #24
To be fair, my brother also has every MTS3K ever made. He burned most of them on to disks over time.

I obsess over some TV shows, David Tennant and David Boreanaz. And cake. I really obsess over cake.

Given mb's actual size, it could be taken as a complement. Sorta.
2009-08-15, 7:13 PM #28
Yeah I'm pretty sure mb's actually smaller than I am

you obsess over the smug emote, using it in what, like all 3 or 4 of your last posts?

There's a good reason why you can't find their ISOs. :eng101:

The fact that I was the first one to use it makes it even better.
(And to Zarn, Yeah I know they suck and stuff, but I found SB16 blasters and Winzip for 3.11, so why has no nerd archived the OSs?)

It's a good emote.

Edit: No, it is the best emote.

That's not the reason. You're just looking for the wrong things. <_< ISO is an optical disc image. Try looking for a floppy image. :eng101:

I tried, I didn't just search "Windows 2 ISO" I searched "Windows 2, OSR2 Warp, Win95 OSR2.1" Etc.

What about Wuh-wuh-Windows, wuh-wuh-Windows, Windows 386?

I'm becoming obsessed with FLAC files. I know that there's no way I'll ever be able to hear the difference between FLAC and a high-bitrate MP3, but it feels wrong now whenever I [purchase] lossily-compressed music.
