My first "real" (whatever that means) concert

Pretty sad that it took 22 years of living before I went to an actual concert where you pay for a ticket, go inside, and see a performance that you actually WANT to see, but better late than never I guess. Saw Green Day last night at the "Shark Tank" in San Jose, they were great. Kudos to whoever for keeping it reasonable, face on the tickets was only $22.50 so with all the crap they tack on it was $130 for 4 tickets. Worth every penny, those guys put on a hell of a show. I'd almost call it "Rock n Roll Circus" as opposed to a "Rock n Roll Concert". They went on for 3 hours non-stop with tons of energy and the right about of antics mixed in. It was probably about 60% "older" stuff and 40% from their latest album and American idiot both of which I wasn't completely fond of but still sounded great in concert. It was honestly probably the most entertained I've ever been, highly recommended even if you don't think you're really a "fan" of theirs...

Best concert I've ever been to was Trans-Siberian Orchestra. So much so I might even return.

Yea, I saw my first non local show a little while ago too.
Disturbed.
Was awesome. Included a lot of pwning and getting pwned in the pits.
One of the openers made us do the wall of death (freaking knock offs). A bunch of people got hurt lol they just got trampled.

I think my first gig I saw was when I got given a ticket to see We Are Scientists when I was 15. They put on a pretty good show.

Best thing I've ever seen live was Rage Against The Machine, and they are now the gold standard against which all gigs are rated. :P
nope.

First concert I went to was Collective Soul about 10 years ago. Probably the best show I've seen was Three Doors Down, back in '05.

First was Atmosphere. Awesome show and great vibes.
Best so far was easily Method Man and Redman.
One I wanted to see the worst is a tie between The Pharcyde and Tribe Called Quest
Most intense was the Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Coolest was Streetlight Manifesto/RBF (got to meet the bands and was so starstruck)

Best concert was MSTRKRFT for other reasons.

My first and only proper concert (not counting local bands in bars and or ones that I've been working at) was seeing Mark Knopfler in May last year. Pity I had to go to Manchester to see him but I'd take that hit again; awesome show.

my first concert was Nsync when i was 9. but my favorite concert was deer and the headlights/lovedrug/plain white ts/ boys night out. probably because i was the oldest/tallest person there (at 5'7" and 19 years old) besides the bands and got sung to by the singer of boys night out because i was the only one who knew any of their songs.
I'm proud of my life and the things that I have done, proud of myself and the loner I've become.

I can't remember my first concert. It was either Styx or REO Speedwagon.

the only "real concert" i've been to was Godsmack on September 21st 2001

everything else was mostly local... with a few not so local but not super well known bands at some of the shows

The best shows I've seen were, in order, Disturbed, ACDC, Godsmack/Metallica, and Ozzy Osbourne. TSO was OK.

First show i went to was The Calling. they were pretty good.

Best show is either Tool or DragonForce. Sonata Arctica are good live, but they seem to be getting tame in their old age. First few times I saw them they were awsome, the last time they weren't quite as good... oh well seeing them again in december so we'll see!

Only concert I've ever been to was Andrea Bocelli about 4 years ago.
Was a good concert though. Apart from whoever was running the sound system thought they needed to turn the speakers up far too loud... it's opera music, not rock damnit.

I saw the Beach Boys live in 2002, 2003, and 2007, Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2007 at Gator Growl, and Decyfer Down, Disciple, and Skillet this year.

I'm still waiting for Paul McCartney...

Primus a few years ago put on an awesome show here in Seattle. PUSA was great too. Bob Dylan was ok, but about 30 years too old.

Disturbed was the first big concert I saw back in 2000 along with Godsmack and Stone Temple Pilots. Awesome show.

AC/DC and Metallica are performing in the Bay Area this winter. I'm more than tempted.
Pissed Off?

First show I went to was supposed to be Catch 22 but we couldnt make it so we saw Finch and Snapcase instead. That was a ton of fun.

Best show would probably have to be RX Bandits at the Bowery Ballroom where I was up front. Theres even photographic proof!

I wanted to see Dave Matthews this year but ticket prices were outrageous by the time I looked.

The first concert I went to was Incubus. Best concert was, interestingly enough, God Smack, who I don't really listen to. Worst concert is my favorite band, Modest Mouse. It was on 4/20 and everything, but the venue had terrible sound, the new music wasn't as good as their older stuff, and the crowd had no idea what the older stuff was. Isaac is a really hit or miss performer too.

I've heard the same about The Mars Volta, however I would've rather saw At The Drive-In when they were together.

Ok, I like this better:

First concert: Styx (I'm for sure now, I got the tickets for winning a tennis match)
Best concert: I don't know if it was the best, but it was my favorite: Rush circa 1988
Worst concert: Dokken - I was SO looking forward to seeing George Lynch, but he had technical problems and his guitar tech wasn't able to fix them
Most-Seen-Band: Van Halen (twice, both during the Hagar era)

And now I've got the Star Wars concert coming up that will likely trump all the others I've been to.
