List the best you know of, I need an emulator for as many systems as possible for a project.

ZSNES is my favorite SNES emulator, but others might tell you SNES9x is better. They're wrong though.

The commodore 64?
I know, n64

I don't think that P4 3.0 Ghz with a Geforce 4 Mx 400 will have enough umph to work it, but I'll put it on anyway thanks.
Oh wow, Thanks Jlee.

That's nice, but I don't need power, I need cheap.
2009-08-19, 10:25 PM #17
now that i think about it yours might even be able to keep up with dreamcast emulation

with a video card that isn't a glorified GF2 there's no doubt it could handle dreamcast emulation

Zsnes is what I use for my SNES. I really got tired of digging my snes out after a while. Compatibility is nice and everything.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

SNES9X is generally better than ZSNES. It's also the emulator used for porting to just about everything, including other consoles like Wii and PSP.

WinUAE is pretty good.

For Amigas.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

Thanks and Thanks.
Any reason why people take Znes over SNES9X? I'm going to put both on (It's not like they take much space)but I would like to know.
2009-08-20, 1:34 AM #22
I just like ZSNES better, I dunno why. It feels better. I also really like its upscaling capability (HQ4x makes games look friggin awesome), though SNES9x probably has that too

Heh, I think it's because a looong time I ago when I got it, SNES9x sucked for my computer or something. But ZSNES was perfect.
2009-08-20, 5:58 AM #24
I'm on my laptop right now so can't check, but I believe I also use ZSNES over SNES9x. Doesn't get much use, though.

Definitely Proj64, though.

For compatability and general ease of setup (no plugins) PSXfin is is nice, but only has software rendering!

How often do you think that's gonna come up?

You forgot an important emulator: DOSBox.

In general:

ZSNES is faster than SNES9X. However, SNES9X has a TON more features, is far more moddable, updated more often, is more compatible, etc. That's mostly why everyone ports it to various systems instead of ZSNES.

This is troubling. I was about to make a thread about agricultural livestock.

Sorry, mom jokes have become a bit of a tradition here (here as in where I am physically located).
