I Have A Recurring Taste Of Pernod

From polishing last night off with a "shot" of the awful stuff. Said shot was more like a quadruple. :nonono:

Anyway, in a break from the usual drink threads, post alcoholic beverages that you dislike heavily.
nope.

I used to dislike Strongbow, but the bottle I had must have been skunked, because it's delicious, especially on tap.

I cant stand Rum at all. Spiced is okay, but only when mixed with something. As for Vodka, not at all.

Good to see that you won't be insulting me with that whenever we discuss drinks. :P

The Extra Cold stuff on tap is excellent.
nope.

Cider is bad.

I thoroughly dislike Sambuca too. Give me tequila any day.

Tequila tastes horrible...
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Don't worry, I still will be.

The only thing off the top of my head that I dislike would be sambuca, purely because it's sticky and for some reason once you've touched it it's suddenly all over your hands.

I've certainly gone off Guinness.

I know, shame on me and all that. Maybe a pint once in a blue moon, but there's just something rough about it for me.

Also Ouzo because it tastes of Bonjela.

I can only barely stand alcohol if it's in the form of various fruity stuff. So no beer, and no straight shots. Also no wine or champagne.

Jaegermeister. Good God, that stuff is rotten.

Incidentally, I hate black jelly beans and black licorice.

It's just something about the smell. It bothers the crap out of me, even when someone else near me drinks it. It's bothered me even since I was a kid, you'd think my dad was a drunk or something. :/

Puke city. Flavors = fail.

On that note, I cannot stand coconut rum.

Most the artificially flavored booze is disgusting.

Vodka never settles well for me.

Light beer.

Coconut rum is indeed disgusting. But it is important to realize that it is Coconut that is disgusting and not rum.

I used to dislike pretty much all alcohol too up to maybe less than 5 years ago.

I find white wines probably some of the most disgusting though. It reminds me of bile or something.

Absinthe. Only because it tastes like black licorice candy... and I HATE that stuff.

Also Patron makes me sick now, really any tequila. I used to like it but after a night of way way wayyyy too much... fail.

True but when you've puked it up thirty times in one night, even the scent of rum is disgusting.

Only "bad" absinthe tastes strongly of anise. "Good" absinthe tastes more like crab grass soaked in cat piss. Wretched stuff.

The trouble with tequila is that the taste/cost curve is very high, you usually need to buy expensive tequila for it to be good. Even then, "good" is subjective. However, I found a rather nice one for less than $20/liter called Silver Xalixco, which is the old Spanish spelling of Jalisco (ha-lees-co). They sell it at a discount liquor store near me.

Anis Domecq.

I got a bottle of it for free. EVEN when me and my friends (my friends are total drunks) run out of liquor and can't find anything else, they won't touch it with a ten foot pole. TASTE'S LIKE ****.

Good for drinkin games, where the punishment, is really a punishment.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I hate vodka. Also light beer. I still have a ton of Miller Lite left over from my friend's bachelor party in May, and I haven't touched it since then.

I won't drink "malternatives" like Smirnoff Ice or Mike's Hard Lemonade, but that's mostly because I'd rather see the shelf space that they occupy used for more beer.

I don't care much for wine either. I can drink it, and I do from time to time, but I'd never seek it out.

This was my usual drink for about a year in college.

Jager is good with cranberry juice or Dr Pepper... vodka disagrees with me though.

Although my drink of choice is Miller High Life, *****es.

Added to my list: White Cider!
nope.

I've had several beers, both big name and small name, and never had one I liked. I usually mix something up with liquor (Vodka Cranberry, Rum and Coke, etc...) or if I'm in more of a "soda" mood I'll grab a Mike's lemonade or Smirnoff ice. At restaurants I usually get a margarita.

I haven't had a drink in over a month because I got so drunk last time just the thought of it still makes me sick.

I encourage you to try a few wheat beers or hefewiezens, people who don't like most beers tend to like those.
