Choosing classes in KotOR

Gah! It's just so difficult having a choice - I want to be able to use a lot of Force, so what classes are best (both base and Jedi)?

If you want to use the force a lot, choose Jedi Consular. You'll get the most powers. Make sure your wisdom modifier is high. The more wisdom points, the more force points you have.

Last time I played it, I went Scout (4)/Jedi Consular (16). I have A LOT of force powers. Insanity was my savior.

Go Scoundrel and stay on level 2 all the way through Taris. Pick Consular when you get to Dantooine, and start leveling again. Blow stuff up.

You should be aware, however, that levelling up so much in a Jedi class (2/18, for example) really unbalances the game.

Is that an X-Box issue? I've never had that problem on my PC.

You could always just do a scout/guardian with very high wisdom. Sufficient force power and explosive saber-power :P

Well, I had a 5/15 Scout/Guardian. Almost had as much VP as a Consular

I mean that you will be so powerful by the end of the game that the challenge will disappear.

Best base classes are Scout and Soldier. The skills the Scoundrel gets will be lost mostly when you become a Jedi as no jedi class gains too many force points.

Definitely one of the best ways to go, especially if you're dark side.

Oh, yeah, that. Pretty much accurate, though Malak is still more of a challenge than if you go 5/15 Scout/Guardian. I thought you were referring to the bug that causes your party members not to gain XP correctly.

The skills are useless, but the Scoundrel gets sneak attack, making it the potentially most damaging class.

Indeed. If you have a few levels of the Sneak Attack feat, you can **** people up big time if they're stunned or you get behind them. It also makes Mission a damaging character if you get the Sneak Attack working right.

Until you find an opponent with immunity to sneak attack. They you are screwed. I don't know if an immunity of that type exists in KotOR but in NWN, that immunity makes all the difference.

Yep. Go Scoundrel (7)/Guardian (13) and you can get sneak attacks off of Force Jump.

IMO that was allways the case. This game is just too easy.

I find the beginning of RPG's to be the most difficult. Usually that is becuase you have almost no hit points, so one or two hits from anything and you are gone. By the end of the game you are so powerful that almost nothing can take you down.

I found that the case with KOTOR. Don't get me wrong, it is a great game, but it just got too easy at the end. Games should get progressivly harder, not plateau in difficulty partway through.
