Congratulations! I'm just getting ready to start and by "getting ready" I mean "starting to think about" and by "to start" I mean "starting next year".

$1000 a class is very, very cheap compared to most university tuition prices.

My sister is paying $75/hr in FL for the same thing I paid $238/hr for up here.

If you're only talking in-state, public schools, then yeah it's cheap. You get into out-of-state schools, or private schools, and you can start pushing $1500/hr.

Wow, what a difference in cost for schooling. Up here for my Film courses it's 1400 per semester, 8 courses per semester until 3rd year (which I am heading into on Tuesday) when it drops to 5 courses, but the cost stays the same.

Yep.

Could be worse, though:
Quote:
Dartmouth College will accept prepayments of total undergraduate tuition at the rate in effect when the student enters the Plan. The total of prepaid tuition is equivalent to the tuition rate in effect for the first term, times the number of terms prepaid. Tuition for the 2009-10 academic year is $12,815.00 per term, accordingly, for an entering First-Year student the total tuition for four academic years (12 terms) would be $153,780.00. Our prepayment option does not apply to charges other than tuition. Room, board and other charges are payable when billed and TPP participants are subject to future cost increases on such charges.

Yeah that's cheap. I paid $1969 + fees per semester for two classes. One of them was entirely worthless but required, two I could've learned on my own with a $40 book..and the last one was actually good, but I had lost all interest and just did it to finish.

Dartmouth's about $1000 more per year than Vandy, where I went, and their room and board is about $1500 less. Pretty much any high ranking private school these days is gonna run $35k-$40k in tuition.

Of course I only paid a tiny fraction of those actual costs.
