Great massasi moments
2009-09-09, 6:06 PM #1
Just thought it would be nice to discuss some great (and possibly some infamous) massassi moments in history.

One such moment would be when someone started a hoax that cavedemon was dead.

Also, I can remember the thread that lead to the massassi meme "your oppinion is wrong" where someone said that they didnt like firefly (or was it farscape  ), and dj-yoshi (is he even still around?) said that he was wrong, and after said person said it was only their oppion, yoshi responded by saying his oppinion was wrong.

Also, it may have been explained before, but was there more to the troll wars than pugler making many accounts (I only came in at the end of the troll wars, just after registration was reopened after having to be closed).

Ruby and Rosebud.

I seem to recall comments that Ruby looked a lot like Mara Jade.

Also, Pugler and BigScaryTheBear and the troll invasion.

The common proletariat probably knows nothing about it, but for the Admins: catching Mechwarrior every single time he's re-registered. I'm pretty sure he's probably made over 100 accounts by now.

Oh and the black letters in people's user titles. I think a few people still have them... there were a couple of threads where if you read down the posts, the black letters spelled out messages. I think Jaiph was the responsible Admin. The only message I remember was "This is fun."

Also, my thread without a topic that people couldn't figure out how to click on to open. That was fun too. Too bad the new forum software doesn't let you do it.
2009-09-09, 8:12 PM #12
Didn't Jaiph also put "in the pants" in between the letters of echo's sig or something too?

It's me, im the mechwarrior in the op.

I vaguely recall the black letters thing... not so much the "in the pants" thing. Then again my memory is terrible beyond a couple of years - I've forgotten more about this place than could be calculated.

Also, 'great' and 'pugler' should not feature together in the same thread unless it's titled "Great things to shoot when I go hunting this weekend".

I'm pretty sure he knows that, most of us do.

Anyone care to elaborate? I think I hadn't yet joined when this stuff happened and I never heard about it other than "Pugler was a bad troll and we banned him".

I vaguely remember The Bear, I think... registered a bunch of accounts with "Bear" in the name, right?

2009-09-09, 8:54 PM #16
I can't remember if Pugler and BigScaryTheBear were the same person... I think they were. Basically, after he got banned (something to do with him flipping out after Yoda's House didnt receive the acclaim he thought it deserved) he registered a bunch of accounts and spammed the forums.

The Troll invasion was when Massassi was targeted by the denizens of Brawl Hall.

Anyone remember the old site design for the main page?

And here's another old logo:

How about Massassi.com e-mail. Who here remembers that?

Every picture ever of Brian Lozier. He always looks so happy.

One of the greatest massassi moments is undoubtedly when someone found a program that allowed us to print out patterns on paper and assemble real-life versions of the 3do models used in JK:

On a related note, the whole "Is kak a girl, grill or Michael Jackson the Hutt" debacle was entertaining to read. Being the Greatest Finn off 2006 was pretty cool too.

But I'll be the first one to re-re-re-re-remind you of Cloud's teacher thread. (The links work sometimes)

Yes, to this day I was wondering who changed my signature. I kept it still intact as evidence.

<--- And I still have a black letter next to my subtitle. But it couldn't be a "this is fun" message because my letter is an "a".

The original Massassi design looked like the current one with the logo posted below that screenshot. That one was done by trail I think, although likely his was a lot better and that was some bastardization that I did because I didn't want to get rid of the green. We went back to frames when it became clear, even at that point, that going back and modifying all the pages to include the new design totally wasn't worth it. There are easier ways to handle something like that nowadays but I wasn't exactly knowledgeable at that point.

My favorite was when I posted a picture of my son Edward and you all made crazy images of him (like an animated typing one), that was rich.
