You can listen to the entire album here. I strongly recommend you all listen- this album is on par, if not better than Origin of Symmetry- and I LOVE Origin of Symmetry.

Enjoy.

I really really reallllly liked it. It's quite an engaging album, really takes you on a ride. Not sure if I really would find myself picking out singles (other than Unnatural Selection), as I think it definitley warrants listening to it all the way through. It's a concept album, but only in the sense of theme, not story.

I've actually heard it described as a soundtrack to "1984", which was an interesting way to think about it.

I think Origin still has the edge. Got a few weeks to drum these new songs into my head before I go see 'em again - woo!

I liked it up until the 3 parter at the end which I found pretty boring.

Truth. I love all of their albums, but BHAR is by far their worst.

Got it, thanks.

I like the first song, didn't care for the next 2, haven't gotten to listen to it anymore.

It is awesome. A good week or two of listening will be required before passing judgment on it compared to their previous albums though.

Oh, and Absolution > Origin, clearly, although that's like saying sex with 20 chicks is better than sex with 19 chicks.

Pfft, Origin > Absolution by a long shot.

They played the entirity of the new album on the radio this afternoon. :neckbeard:
nope.

I'm going to get shot for saying this but:

Origin of Symmetry / The Resistance
Showbiz
Absolution
Black Holes and Revelations

I feel that Origin of Symmetry, Showbiz and Absolution are part of the same trilogy, and I feel that Black Holes and The Resistance are part of a new trilogy. In my opinion Origin is their perfect earlier album and The Resistance is their perfect newer album. Also, as for me placing Showbiz before Absolution, I just feel that Absolution has a bit of filler where as Showbiz just sucks me in. Sunburn is still my favorite opening track to a Muse album, and one of their best tracks ever.

Because it's half b-sides and half live therefore not a studio album.
nope.

Doesn't matter. Still an album.

New album is amazing by the way. People are harsh on black holes, i think it's the trend of not liking the recent stuff and saying the old is better to seem cool. It's probably better than showbiz, and on par with Absolution.
