Of interest to people competing in the current level contest. Mat16 doesn't have a batch convert. Matmaster does but it can't do 16 bit mats. Not only that, but mat16 only opens bmps, and I had a mess of tgas.

So I wrote this to do it for me.

You are the master. If you ever want to automate processes in the future you could always try autoit, it's cool.

He just said he needed to convert tgas, not bmps.

version 1.2? I'll be darned, and I'd like to know how I ended up with 0.9.

Hah.

For one, Mat16 opens both BMP and JPG files. It only batch converts BMPs to Mats, though. So I'm really liking this TGA stuff.

I have each version (0.9, 1.0, 1.1, 1.2) on my comp. I toggle between 0.9 and 1.2, since 0.9 allows you to select the strength of effect on transparent pixels (crank it to 15, and anything below "15,15,15" will be transparent, etc.) This doesn't work in 1.2, looks like it was disabled or something.

Oh, right, you ended up with 0.9 because Massassi only hosts it. Mat16 v1.2 is the least common, almost nobody knows about it.

Yesh. x2mat16 does not do transparency. It only saves in 565 format, though it would not be difficult to add 1555 format. What would be mildly challenging is detecting which images should have transparency and what to set the threshold at. Not something that can be automated as simply.

Well, I sure hate converting JPGs to BMPs first. Thanks.
