Well, kind of.
I remember that happening the year I graduated high school. The driver of the flatbed got sued (as well as the company he worked for) for driving on a route not approved for him to drive on (hrmmm, i wonder why :carl:). The repairs cost was something like $150,000 and I-70 was closed to east-bound traffic for almost 2 weeks. Four additional months were needed to get the bridge repaired. It was a stroke of luck that nobody was on that bridge at the time. It's a pretty busy traffic area, especially around 6 in the evening.
I never realized that this story was on failblog and snopes until a friend of mine sent me the link.
