[Ubernerd] Post your burn temps [Thread with tags]

I decided to up my OC a bit and am P95 burning. My temps are a bit high but okay for my proc but I decided to check w/ a friend to make sure and the by-product of that was a screenshot that is postable here.

If you're bored, download Prime95 and run a burn for a little while, check your temps with HWMonitor or another program and post a screenie here.

Those are some high temps, but atleast on modern Intel hardware it should be impossible to kill a CPU with tempature alone because it will simply throttle itself down. Too much voltage is what will cause permenant damage.

I'm at work so I cant take a SS now, but my temporary rig is a Q6600 @ 2.7 ghz on the stock cooler- it runs at 69C at full load.

I just made this thread cuz I've been looking through like a bajillion threads on other forums on this exact topic when researching good OC configs

I have a stock E8400 Wolfdale that gets to 58 C using P95. I'm going to overclock it eventually. Also, RealTemp might give you more accurate numbers as opposed to HWMonitor.

That's weird. You would think a thermostat would read the same temperature no matter what software you used.
