I don't actually know how old it is. Probably late 90s or early 00s. It was sort of like married with children. It had a hot redhead in it if I remember correctly, and the dad of the family was constantly talking to a dog or other animal in the basement (and nobody else could see or hear it talk). It was a comedy. Ring any bells?

Sounds interesting, except for the married with children comparison, that show was so incredibly bad.
Still, I think I might have to check this show out, the concept intrigues me.

That was it, thanks! I think I started watching after the first few seasons. Based on the wikipedia article that's when they started featuring the chick a lot more (nikki cox I guess). I'm going to see if netflix has it.

Mr Floppy was the animal, it was a bunny, not a dog.

Interesting they don't have it on netflix. Maybe never released on DVD or something.
