Anyone remember that cool city-underwater-but-way-before-bioshock level? I think Nebula made it, but it didn't turn up in a search.
2009-10-20, 4:07 PM #42
It's in one of the MLPs. Number 2: "Deep".
2009-10-20, 4:13 PM #43
Ah there it is. The screenshots aren't as impressive as I remember the level, though.
2009-10-20, 4:13 PM #44
Yeah, Deep was incredible. That airlock. I loved Slug's map, Vanilla, from one of the other MLPs.
2009-10-20, 4:24 PM #45
I was always a huge fan of Desolation, from either MLP1 or 2...

Yes.

Some of my favorite times with JK were with JHS.

I was introduced to editing (even though I never submitted anything) because of JHS.

I saw my first "hack" on JHS. I asked the person about it and they told me some things, and in my research I found Massassi.

I made several levels, and I think I might have actually posted some pictures of one of them on here (it was a bar .. go figure...) did some cog hacking to piss off people online, etc.

JHS got me involved into the Jedi Knight community. So it's my favorite screenshot.

That was a great fun level, even if it did look like ****. The game is dead you don't have to stay on a dead high horse.

JHS

Am I the only one who would say JHS is one of my favorite levels?

Along with Caesars Palace, SMHQ, Dralloc Hotel and Casino, Manticeville, and Phoenix Suburban City.

What about that guys level who was making the Duel of the Fates remake/TPM Ending cargo bay remakes that looked super awesome even for JK?

Does anyone know if a level ever came out of that variable-ground texture idea someone had years back? (2004-5ish) They'd layered another texture on top of the first one at a very small height difference.

Ruthven did that, IIRC, so it would have been part of the Stargate mod. So no, it was never released.

Damn, I did vaguely remember it was intended to be part of a mod that divebombed, SGTC or that one cazor and some other guys were working on with the modern weapons.

Hopefully halucid comes back, he made some astounding levels...

I've played TODOA (thanks btw), you don't have to wish. ;)

I on the other hand, wish I could match wits with Halucid :gonk:

You've named my all time favorites.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I always thought that "The Old Mill" was rather impressive.
? :)

That's a nice one. The textures make a huge difference. I'm sort of struggling with my level for the contest because it looks so odd mixing default JK textures with non-default-JK textures. Hrm.
2009-10-23, 2:23 PM #72
Mentat: that one was made by Tee wasnt it?

i remember being impressed with the wood when it was showcased way back when.

I would say all those levels are complete rubbish, and beaten to death on the zone.

I'm using Zully's partial remake of 06baron. I have other misc textures that match the scheme.

I always liked how people would find the really good angles for screenshots in otherwise mundane levels. I lost count of how many levels that looked amazing in screenshots but were ultimately disappointing and forgettable.
