City of Heroes: Worth it?

I've been thinking about getting City of Heroes for some time now, but I'm not sure. For those who have it (and I think there are a few), is the game fun and does it stay fun? Is it worth the monthly fees?

If you enjoy RPG's, you'll like this game. Get it and join Justice server.

It's like deja vu all over again.

Been playing it for over 2 months now. It's fun.

Here's some screenies from the highish-end of the game for ya.

Creys are a major opponent later on. This is the pose my Claws toon hold for a second or so after his most powerful attack.

Creys a-plenty during this Crey Task Force. The guys in green coats are medics, which annoying heal what you're trying to kill. The patch of ice down the bottom was created by an Ice Controller, and as you can see the Creys are falling over on it.

Circle of Thorns Behemoth Overlord. These guys are, unsurprisingly, rather tough.

These guys have rocket packs they fire at you, looks really cool.

The Nemesis look like ancient Romans or something. Everything they use is steam powered.

A rather hectic Circle of Thorns mission with more than a few Behemoths. That green glow down the bottom of the screen (caused by Instant Healing, the ultimate defence in the Regeneration power set) is me. I actually won that fight.

You just have to find a character your comfortable with. For me, I can't play anything but scrappers.

It's worth persevering with at least one char. IMO the games gets much more fun at 20+ when you start hitting Talos and Independance Port. Characters start to mature so the groups you're in are much more dynamic. Plus you fight Family and Sky Raiders, which are way cooler than anything that comes before them.

Those shots rock! It almost makes me want to start playing again, but of course I'm level 20 something and it takes forever to level up and get to something new, so I get bored [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]
