Oh man, back in high school I created a VB6-based frontend to Q3Map2, which was still actively updated at the time. It had an autoupdater. It was actually pretty good.

What show was it where the detectives got some kid's XBox, then they had to play the game and once they completed it it popped up an Excel spreadsheet with the information they were looking for?

That must have been 5 or so years ago it was doing the rounds.

I've a feeling it may have been CSI again.
