Hitler would support censoring the names of historical people on account of being a fascist.
Hitler is censored.
Pretty sure that's irony.
2009-11-01, 4:02 PM #11
It doesn't necessarily follow that Hitler would not want his own name censored

You get the joke and I know it, I'm not falling for this anymore.

It's not that I don't understand what you're trying to say, it's that what you're trying to say is really not ironic.

It would be ironic if Hitler had implemented a program or something to ensure that his name would not be censored in the future, and the result of that program was that his name became censored everywhere.

Hitler censoring the names of historical figures does not lead to Hitler does not want his own name to be censored, which makes it not ironic that his name is "censored" on Google

i.e. Hitler censoring the names of historical figures is not at odds with the fact that his own name is "censored"

How about that Alanis Morissette song called 'Ironic' that contains a whole series of statements, none of which are ironic. Is that itself ironic?

You haven't explained what's ironic. Irony is not something that's merely surprising or by coincidence.

Everybody hates TE lulz...

I don't really see what the big fuss is over him calling that ironic. I guess it qualifies as irony.

I'm pretty sure your all forgetting the whole "ironic definition" pissfest in the other thread where TE posted, and I think he was referencing that in a humorous way.
