How accurate is it? :P
nope.

Dunno, I've only watch the LotR trilogy once.

I love the Jurassic Park bits: "must go faster" and "clever girls".

The Primer bit is best, and accurate.

Very. It's a lot of work, though, for a joke about Primer.

Well I'm assuming he did most of the work under the assumption he'd think of a punchline about something, and he did it.

Damn, I want that as a poster.

I once drew up a complete genealogy of the House of Finwe to show how Aragorn and Arwen are related, and found that they are both first and third cousins. I wish I could find that, that took weeks of research. I also drew up the genealogy of Merry, Pippin, Frodo and Bilbo - all of which are, in some way, related. That was a lot easier.

Ah, at first glance I thought this was more impressive than it actually is... or more interesting, at least. The horizontal axis is just character interactions, so all this requires is taking the time to sit through and then draw the lines up and down to meet each other accordingly... I at first assumed some other variable was in play, something more complex.

In the LOTR one, the y-axis corresponds loosely with northwest-southeast (as it says in the alt text).

He based it off the movies, not the books.

Good luck mapping out the entire Extended Universe. The z-axis can be the official levels of canonicity.

It's over 6Mp. You can print a 16x24-ish out of that. :ninja:

If he did the lotr one with the book, that would actually be really helpful. That thing gets complicated.

The chapter on the Council of Elrond would look like the quantum spacetime foam, as characters pop in and out of existence.

Yeah I saw this last night. Pretty cool. I also noticed quickly that the LotR one was based on the movies, not the books. No Tom Bombadil. :( Ah well, still very awesome nonetheless.
