Buy me drinky? (a seedy story, be warned)

So, I just got back from my first vacation in Hawaii. I went to Oahu and stayed in Waikiki. It was an amazing experience and has motivated me to become a permanent resident of the islands.

However, that is not the topic of this thread.

The first night we were there, my friends and I decided to go bar hopping. Now, I've done more than my fair share of bar hopping, but I was absolutely not prepared for what I found in the seedier areas of Honolulu, walking distance from Waikiki beach.

We went into this bar for a drink; it was relatively slow with less than ten people at the bar and even less in the booths. Before we even found a place to sit, we were each greeted by our own BEAUTIFUL korean woman (none of them could have been over 30). They came at us STRONG. Mine came right up to me, said "my name is Mi-mi, whats your name?" I told her my name and she said "you are very handsome boy. You make-a me horny." At that, I was thinking "uh, what?" Then she walked straight into my personal bubble, put her arms around my neck and started kissing my neck. I was caught completely by surprise, but I slowly started to pick up on what was happening. These women were paid to entertain the bar patrons. They were paid to sit and have conversations, but they were free to do what they like. The gimmick is, you buy them drinks whenever you buy yourself a drink, and they stay with you while you're at the bar. I had about $100 to spend out on the town that night, so I figured "why not? It'll be fun."

After the first $40, the girl was half naked trying to push my hand down her pants. Not going to lie, it was damned tempting, but my inner conscience started yelling that I was getting dangerously close to the prostitution thing and I suddenly felt disgusted and left. My friend went back the next night and didn't come back to the hotel until 4 in the morning. He said he spent $250 for about 8 hours of entertainment.

Has anyone else experienced one of these bars?

One time I paid saberopus 150 bucks to get me some sex from Darth J.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Darth J took the $120 and the $150, flashed his man-boobs, and said have a good time.

Hawaii is beautiful. Living there would definitely be interesting... it's a totally different vibe from the mainland (oh ho ho)...

I probably could find a place like that easily in NYC. But prostitution is illegal in the state of New York, but you just have to look around. Like those "message parlors" or something. I haven't tried one myself, I worry I might catch a disease.

Not sure about Hawaii though. Something like that could land the person with a misdemeanor, but when it comes to illegal immigrants (good portion of these places are connected to foreign crime syndicates), they could face deportation.

Most of them are illegal, and are carry STDs. Just like in New York, Amsterdam... basicly everywhere. They're prostitutes, and they have every right to be one, just, don't go near them...

You're asserting that prostitutes in Amsterdam are just as seedy as in New York? That... doesn't sound right.

Prostitution in Nevada, for example, solves a lot of the problems associated with illegal prostitution. Prostitutes work in well-run brothels that use safe practices and have frequent STD checks.

Well, I assume not all of these locations, especially a bar, offer full-force sex. Like offering hand jobs or whatever.

Yeah don't most prostitutes in Amsterdam have excellent health care and required std and drug tests on like a weekly basis?

Yes, they do. One of the reasons they legalized prostitution here is to improve on these things. I have no personal experience with prostitutes, but from what I've heard condoms are required and provided in every 'official' place.

It's different when you pick up some crack whore from the streets though. But that goes without saying.

Yeah, hookers are just like anything else... if you regulate it, there's no harm in that.... But we don't want government regulation coming in and taking it over. That's SOCIALISM!

It was called the Evergreen Club or something. The reason these places are legal is because you're not technically paying for anything other than drinks for the girls. They have learned, however, that customers tip more if they are having a "good" time.
